Actually it’s not been all that rainy this year, as winters go in the west of Scotland.
But “More Glasgow Rain” just popped into my head as a title for another one of my small urban paintings.

Cityscapes are one of my favourite subjects and I admire the artists that can paint them very well, such as M J Ashcroft.
I think everyone knows what it’s like to hurry across the street in the rain. So I hope that this kind of work prompts that ‘feeling memory’ and perhaps encourages more of a viewer-painting connection.
For my part I enjoyed the challenge of painting the various tones of grey, the lights and reflections and the typical mix of Glasgow architecture.
